EXCITING NEW PARTNERSHIP FOR RS AERO WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS 2027 – SALTY DINGO ANNOUNCED AS NAMING RIGHTS PARTNER
Major two-year strategic partnership also includes Australian Championships 2026 and State Championship support nationwide Salty Dingo Pty Ltd has been announced as the naming rights partner for the RS Aero Australian Championships 2026 and RS Aero Sailing World Championships 2027, forming part of a new strategic partnership with the RS Aero Association Australian (AUS) Incorporated. Importantly, the partnership will help deliver the 2027 World Championships at Blairgowrie Yacht Squadron (BYS) in Victoria. Under the sponsorship, the events are now known as:

The agreement, which runs until June 2027, also includes general sponsorship of the RS Aero State Championships in Victoria, Western Australia, South Australia and New South Wales. In addition to the financial sponsorship, Salty Dingo will provide its creative expertise as a media and visual content partner. Salty Dingo will serve as the exclusive and official provider of photography and visual media for the RS Aero World Championships 2027, using their renowned visual storytelling to help showcase the exhilaration and spirit of the Aero sailing class to an international audience. Simon Pluim, the Vice President of RS Aero Association (AUS) Incorporated and a senior member of the Blairgowrie Yacht Squadron, welcomed Salty Dingo’s new commitment to supporting Aero Sailing in Australia. “This is an important partnership for our sailing class as it brings both funding to deliver key events in our calendar and will also help to attract opportunities for the Aero class,” said Simon. Over the past decade, the RS Aero Class in Australia has gone from strength to strength. Since the first Aero arrived on Australian shores in 2015, the class has seen remarkable growth, with more than 300 boats now racing across the country. Rhett Gowans, RS Aero Australian and two-time World Champion, and Director of Sailing Raceboats Pty Ltd, the Australian importer of Aero design boats, said the upcoming major regattas and the new partnership with Salty Dingo offered big opportunities to build the class further. “The partnership with Salty Dingo will assist in the growth, development and all-round coverage of this special class. Through their funding support and their lens, we can show the world this fast, light and modern single-handed skiff,” said Rhett. The partnership reflects Salty Dingo’s deep passion for sailing and a commitment to help the RS Aero class thrive across Australia. Salty Dingo Director, Craig ‘Salty’ Greenhill, who is an avid Aero sailor, said the sponsorship was directly linked to the company’s speciality in and love for sailing, boating and the marine environment. “This partnership with RS Aero is our way of giving back to a sport that has shaped so much of our lives. A life of sailing is a life well lived, and we often say, ‘just keep trimming your sails and you can achieve anything’. That philosophy is at the heart of how we work and also how we sail,” said Craig. “As an Aero sailor, I’ve found the individual challenge of the class brings strength and real joy. It’s a class of sailing which allows great diversity, embraces all levels of ability and allows people to learn and grow. “We’re proud to support the RS Aero Association and hope this partnership helps more people discover everything this incredible class has to offer.”
2025Rooster RS aero national championships
The final day of the Rooster RS Aero 2025 National Championships has been completed.
The last day of racing tested all 4 fleets, with a dying breeze greeting sailors for Race 7 & 8.
Race 7 was completed in 5-10knots, with the final race being completed in a variable, shifty 5 knot breeze. Just what you want to make it an exciting finale!
This made for an exhilarating finish, especially in the RS Aero 7 fleet, where all three Podium positions were determined in the final race of the regatta!
All four RS Aero fleets completed a full series.
Congratulations to the four National Champions and the Female Aero 6 National Champion:
RS Aero 5 Australian National Champion - Maria-Luisa Coulson
RS Aero 6 Australian National Champion - Rhett Gowans
RS Aero 7 Australian National Champion - Glenn Collings
RS Aero 9 Australian National Champion - Justin Bakker
We had 80 sailors, race officials & love ones attend the presentation dinner held at Club Callala. Congratulations to all the winners, place getters and competitors. See you all at the Blairgowrie Yacht Squadron Nationals in a year's time! Photo credit - Salty Dingo
